Agricultura Científica S.A. is a Costa Rican Corporation  that was founded in 1992 by  José Ma. Agüero, Agronomist and Agricultural Engineer devoted to project development and consulting in the world wide cultivation of rice. Over time Agrocheck has grown into a multinational  corporation and has had  the good fortune to be joined by many other  successful and well known professionals with common values, scholarly knowledge, and experience in all methods of rice cultivation. The Agrocheck philosophy has evolved over time with great confidence in the knowledge that together we can offer our customers the synergistic value of our combined resources and talents. Today our specialists in Agronomy, Soils and Plant Nutrition, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Weed Management, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanics, Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, and Meteorology join together to meet the needs of companies and countries across the world, using the most modern scientific techniques to increase yield and efficiency over time.

The original focus of Agricultura Científica in 1992 was the development of agricultural projects in irrigation, land leveling and advice in the production of rice crops, with much attention to the problem of red rice and nutrition management in real time in rice fields. It was not long before our success grew and three years later we had projects in Panama and in 2000 we were in East Africa. Currently we have several mega projects in East, West and South Africa, in addition to Central America.

Since 2002 we have become well known world wide  for the creation, distribution, and sale of software, hardware, equipment, and machinery control systems. We now offer the most complete line of precision agriculture products including consulting and service in Central America and the Caribbean Region. In 2010 we  introduced the “taipas” rice production technology to Central America, with projects in Costa Rica, Panama and Guatemala that now accounts for several thousand hectares of high yield production.

We at Agricultura Cientifica are pioneers in “taipas” technologies and have expanded this technology into major African markets, we are presently developing large scale mechanized direct seeded rice projects in East Africa, West Africa and Southern Africa including RTK-based GPS precision surveys, design, supervision and cultivation of rice fields. These strategies have accounted for a 20% overall increase in yield in some cases.

Agricultura Cientifica has grown in scope and vision overthe years forming strategic partnerships worldwide. Currently we have the pleasure  of being authorized dealers for AgLeader, Topcon, IMC and RomePlow  for Central America, The Caribbean, South America and Africa
